Pooped

I have so much that I want to get out here on our blog, but we are so busy and so tired right now!
We drove straight home from Destin yesterday. Took 15 hours, arrived home @ 2am. This morning we woke up and starting unpacking and putting things aways, Jason cleaned the Pilot inside and out. We had to go to the grocery store to restock, go the AmFam to sign our paperwork for boat insurance. We are both exhausted!
And this Jason's Western Civ class ends this weekend, so he has a couple essay's and a test to take before Monday.
I go back to work Monday, Jason Wednesday. So, hopefully before then we can get some rest and I can get some more Florida blog out here :)

1st day at the beach

Monday was our first day in Destin, it was rainy and dreary most of the day. But afternoon it stopped raining enough to get out on the beach. Jason wanted to try out his new boogie board and Enza and I went along to watch! Enza was not fond of anything about the beach! She cried and hung on to us for dear life.

Teething

Did I mention that Enza's first tooth poked thru Monday night before we left home! Sunday after church my mom and I felt that she had a little bump on her gum, and sure enough the next night it had poked thru. In the week since then the whole top of the tooth is thru and moving up!
She had her first teething biscuit in GA she went to town :)

Bradley Workshop and on to Destin

Thursday morning we had an early morning, the Bradley Method® workshop began bright and early at 8:30am and went thru to 10p. Jason and Enza spent the whole day in the workshop with me. There were 25 other women there to become Bradley teachers, there were 7 babies and a handful of husbands and grandmothers to help with the babies. On our first day we met Lindsey from GA, we ended up sitting by Lindsey in the workshop and had a good time getting to know her over the next few days. The workshop was 3.5 long days, but it was great. It was so inspiring to be there with people that share something with you that you all feel so passionately about. We watched many birth videos that brought tears to everyone’s eyes in the room. We all left feeling motivated and inspired to get Bradley Method® Natural Childbirth out to the masses and educate and empower women to make their own decisions. “Don’t let them ‘deliver’ you, you decide how your ‘birth’ is going to be.”
During our drive to Florida, Jason found out that a position he applied for in the Clay County Drug Squad was going to be interviewing candidates during the time of our trip. He made the necessary phone calls and found out that they were not going to budge, his oral board was Friday, and he had to be there if he wanted to be considered for the position. SO…Thursday during the first day of the workshop he got online and purchased an airline ticket to fly back to KC just for his interview! Thankfully, even buying his ticket one day in advance he was able to get his ticket for $215! Friday @ 4am he drove himself to the Orlando airport, flew back to KC, interviewed and flew back into Orlando around 9pm. What a day!
Sunday was the last day of the workshop, so we packed up and checked out during lunch break, and when the workshop was over at 3pm we headed on to the best part of our road trip….the BEACH! Now, there is a Lamborghini dealership in Orlando. If you know my husband there is no way we could be so close and not stop to drool. So we took a minor detour to the dealership, and took a few pictures of the fancy cars. Finally, on the road to Destin, we weren’t on the road for too long and we were both hungry but we both kept putting off stopping because we just wanted to get to Destin. After several miles, we notices an exit that was full of food options, so we pulled of and filled up the gas tank, cleaned the windshield, and went across the street to order food. While we were ordering from Zaxby’s Chicken sirens went by so loud we couldn’t hear over the speaker. We got our food and got back on the highway. Within a few minutes we saw lots of brake lights and slowed down real quick. Within a minute we were at a dead stop. This kept on for awhile, so Jason got out of the car to see what was going on and for as far as he could see cars were at a stand still. So, we got out of the car and hung out on I-75 visiting with others. We watched Life Flight come and go, and after 50 minutes finally got to move. We don’t know what happened in that accident, but we pray that everyone is okay, and we thank God that he directed us off of the highway when he did that we were not a part of the accident.

Trip to Orlando, FL

We left home on 4-28-09 at 3:30 am. The early morning went smoothly, Jason drove while Enza & I went back to sleep for a few hours on the road. Driving on I-70 in the middle of the night was such a blessing. Jason has very little patience for the semis and left lane drivers on that LONG stretch of two-lane interstate, we had none of that to deal with at 4am! We had a great road trip straight thru to Dacula GA with minimal stops. Enza did fabulous for her first road trip, a good road trip at that. We made the hike to ATL in 12:45, which might even be a little bit better than when Jason and I made it alone a year and a half ago. We pulled into the Dowell’s around 5:15pm local time. We had a great evening spent with Brent, Becka, and Pierce. We ate wings and played Wii :). We wished that we lived closer to the Dowell’s so that we could hang out more often, we always have a good time and feel so welcome and comfortable in their home.
Wednesday morning we had brunch and were on the road to Orlando by 1:30. Once again we had an easy trip, arrived in Orlando around 9pm. We checked in and hit the hay.

Starting Solids

We're starting Enza on solid food slowly but surely. Up until recently she has been exclusively breastfeed, so we're taking things very slow for her little tummy. Here is a peak at the first time she tried solids. We gave her some sweet potatoe, she did really well! She didn't make any funny faces and she didn't push it out of her mouth. But after a few bites it all came back up, uh oh!





So, we backed off for a few weeks and have started again with a little bit of banana each day, just a little slice mashed up and mixed with a little breastmilk to thin in down. Sometimes she makes this awful gag face, and looks at you like "what in heck are you feeding me?" It's hilarious, and every once in while she shivers like it gives her the chills! She's quite animated and it's so much fun watching her experience the different textures.

First time rolling over

This was Enza's first time rolling over and Daddy got on film! She'd been trying for quite a while and finally got over!

We don't co-sleep, but if Enza wakes up before Mommy's ready to get up, I bring her into bed with us so she can nurse and I can sleep! This morning was one of Jason's days off so I had gotten up and into the shower and came back to find them sleeping like this! How cute is that?

Enza's weekend

The Mall loves Enza

Enza and Mommy had a busy few days. On Friday we went to the mall with Grandma! Every where we went people just ohh and ahh over Enza, it is so funny! We went into Christopher Banks and the four women working went crazy. One even said that she wanted a phone call next time Baby Enza came in because she wanted to see her!

New to blogging

I have no idea what I'm doing or what I've gotten myself into, but I'm inspired by friends who have blog's. I want our family around the world to be able to see our family, how we're changing and growing and we are up to!
